The Guilds of Limerick 1840

In October of 1840 a list of guilds members was submitted to the National Repeal Association's meeting in the city. The members listed are those who subscribed to the Association so this list is not a complete list of guilds members in the city.

As well as the list of members, the article, which appeared in the Freeman’s Journal newspaper in its edition on 21st October 1840, gives some interesting accounts of how trade is and has been since the Act of Union (1800).
