The Irish Book Lover was a literary/bibliography journal which started publishing in 1909, edited by John S. Crone. It is a significant source of information on Irish literature, printing and bibliography, and ‘illustrates with great clarity some of the key changes in modern Irish culture and society between early and mid-twentieth century Ireland’ [Colin Smythe]. Well worth a browse for anyone interested in Irish books and literature.
So far, only a few copies of this journal have been made available online, so we are very pleased to present about half of our collection on our local studies website, with the remainder to follow in due course.
Have a look at the full collection of journals – many fully digitised – here
We plan to add further journals to the site so keep in touch and watch out for new additions.
