Comóradh 1916

The Limerick City & County Library 2016 Commemoration Programme remembers and honours those who took part in the 1916 Rising, reflecting on the legacy of that period and will look towards our future.

Limerick has many important links with the 1916 Rising and these were commemorated in a programme of events and activities in 2016. Two of the sixteen leaders executed after the Rising were Limerick men, namely Con Colbert and Edward Daly. Tom Clark of Dublin also had close association with Limerick, his wife, Kathleen, being a member of the renowned Daly family of Limerick.
